Perindopril oral tablet is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). It's also used to lower the risk of death or heart attack in people with stable coronary artery (heart) disease.
This can be harmful or prevent the drug from working well. Perindopril oral tablet can interact with other medications, vitamins, or herbs you may be taking. An interaction is when a substance changes the way a drug works.
If you have lupus and take this drug, l your doctor any time you have a fever or sore throat. For people with lupus: Perindopril can lower your white blood cell counts. This raises your risk of infections. This is more likely to occur if you have lupus.
Not every pharmacy stocks this drug.
Perindopril is used alone or in combination with other medications to treat high blood pressure. Perindopril is in a class of medications called angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors. It makes blood flow more smoothly by preventing the production of certain natural chemicals that tighten the blood vessels.

Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom).
Unneeded medications should be disposed of in special ways to ensure that pets, children, and other people cannot consume them.
DESCRIPTION. ACEON (perindopril erbumine) Tablets contain the tert-butylamine salt of perindopril, the ethyl ester of a non-sulfhydryl angiotensin-converting.
Patients taking concomitant mTOR inhibitor (e.g., temsirolimus) therapy or a neprilysin inhibitor may be at increased risk for angioedema.

Do not co-administer aliskiren with ACEON in patients with diabetes. Avoid use of aliskiren with ACEON in patients with renal impairment (GFR <60 ml/min).
The recommended initial daily dosage of ACEON for the elderly is 4 mg daily, given in one or two divided doses.

Perindopril isn't suitable for everyone.
Be more active - regular exercise lowers blood pressure by keeping your heart and blood vessels in good condition. It doesn't need to be too energetic - walking every day is enough.
You may be advised to take your first dose before bedtime, because it can make you feel dizzy. After the very first dose, if you don't feel dizzy, take perindopril in the morning ideally 30 to 60 minutes before breakfast. Swallow perindopril tablets whole with a drink.
